Custom Fireplace, Stairs and Kitchen

Dec 19, 2018 | 0 comments

This 4,000-square-foot 1800s farmhouse was taken down to its foundation and completely rebuilt using modern construction methods while preserving its original character. Designed to meet Passive House efficiency standards, the home incorporates advanced systems including an ERV, make-up air, and continuous exterior insulation for superior performance. Inside, craftsmanship and history are blended throughout, with custom stairs, trim, and faux beams created from reclaimed materials sourced from the original structure. Finishes were carefully selected to achieve a timeless feel, including color-integrated plaster for an aged look, custom cabinetry, and a one-of-a-kind fireplace featuring embedded gems and birthstones. Reclaimed mixed-species hardwood flooring runs throughout, tying the entire home together with warmth and authenticity.
